What are Custom Conditions?

Custom Conditions: Rewarding Performance in Affiliate Programs

Custom Conditions are a feature in the 2Performant platform that allows advertisers to reward high-performing affiliates with better terms than the standard ones. If an affiliate achieves outstanding results in a specific affiliate program, the advertiser can recognize their success by offering a higher commission or a longer recurring period than the default.

Custom Conditions let advertisers reward top-performing affiliates with preferential commissions and/or preferential recurring periods. More specifically, they can apply a multiplier to an affiliate’s commission.

Preferential Commissions
For example, if an affiliate program has a standard commission of 7% per sale, the advertiser can apply a 1.2× multiplier, effectively giving an additional 20% on top of the standard commission. This means the affiliate would earn a total of 8.4% per validated sale.

If the standard commission changes, the preferential commission automatically adjusts using the same multiplier. For instance, if the standard commission later increases to 12%, the preferential commission becomes 14.4%.

This model also applies to programs with variable commissions. Regardless of the final commission value, if an affiliate has a preferential multiplier, their commission is automatically updated according to the set multiplier. This ensures the affiliate earns a commission different from the standard program rate.

Preferential Recurring Period
Preferential recurring periods are even easier to manage. Advertisers can choose a value from the available options: 30, 60, or 90 days.

Important: Improvements to preferential conditions take effect immediately. However, reducing preferential conditions requires a notice period equal to the cookie lifetime, but no longer than 30 days. Notifications are sent automatically to affiliates when changes are saved, and the modification is applied on the specified date.
