Understanding 2Performant Cookies and Super Tracking
Cookies set by 2Performant when a user clicks on the advertiser’s tools have the pattern: dpstore%3Adouaparale_. This 2Performant cookie is placed on each browser, for each affiliate program.
It contains the following: unique affiliate code, unique affiliate click and the cookie’s expiration timestamp. The cookie will be deleted after a period equal to the recurrence period (cookie life) expires and is overwritten if the affiliate and/or timestamp are changed.
Example 1: if affiliate A sends user X to an advertiser’s site on day 1 and sends the same user on day 10, the cookie will be updated with the new timestamp; therefore day 10 will be the first day of the cookie life.
Example 2: if affiliate A sends user X to an advertiser site on day 1 and affiliate B sends the same user X on day 2, the cookie will be updated with affiliate B’s ID and day’s 2 timestamp. Therefore, when the user completes the order, affiliate B will receive the commission.
2Performant cookie is a third party cookie type platform. You can find more details on Wikipedia about third party cookies.
Additionally, 2Performant uses Super Tracking.
