How to add product feeds to your website

How to import a product feed for a price comparison site or product aggregator

If you own a website that is a price comparison tool or a product aggregator, you will need to implement product feeds from advertisers into your site.

Below, we’ll show you how to prepare and retrieve a product feed to implement it into your site.

First, you need to make sure you’ve been accepted into the affiliate program whose feed you want to retrieve.

Then, navigate to Tools > My feeds, and in the top right corner of the screen, click the 'Add Product Feed' button.

A window will open where you need to choose a Product feed name, and then you can search for all the product feeds of the programs you’ve been accepted into using the 'Select program' button. A list of available feeds for the selected program will appear, and to add the desired feed to your list of feeds, you will need to click the '+' symbol.

Next, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you’ll be able to configure the fields that will appear in the feed. The first three fields are locked and cannot be modified. To add or remove a field, click on it and use drag and drop to move it from the Available list to the Active list, or vice versa.

Here are the field definitions:

  • Product title: the product’s title

  • Marketer Link: the affiliate link, which starts with //event.2performant.ro/events/

  • Sale price: the product’s current price

  • Merchant Program: the advertiser the product belongs to

  • Image URLs: the URL link to the product image

  • Description: a text description of the product

  • Merchant program ID: the unique ID of the advertiser

  • Old price: the previous price, in case the price has changed or the product is discounted

  • Category: the product’s category, e.g., Fashion

  • Product ID: the product’s unique ID

  • Other data: additional information in JSON format

  • Brand: the brand name

  • Active: indicates whether the product is still active or not

  • Added at: the date the product was added

  • Merchant URL: the advertiser’s homepage URL

  • Product URL: the URL of the product page

  • GTIN: a globally unique identifier used for products

  • Custom Field 1, 2, 3, 4: flexible fields used to pass additional product information

feed category

Our recommendation is to create a single feed per advertiser.

Don’t forget to save it using the Save button located in the bottom right corner of the screen.

In the My Feeds page under the Tools section, you’ll find a list of the feeds you’ve created. To retrieve a feed and add it to your site’s importer, simply click on either the CSV or XML button, depending on your preference, and the feed URL will be copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into the importer.
